Civil engineering department was established in the year 1984. Initially, the annual
intake was 60. In tune with the growing demand profile globally for civil engineering,
the intake level was enhanced to 120 in the year 2013– 2014and onwards. It is one
among the oldest department in our institution. The discipline deals with the design,
construction and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment, including
works such as bridges, roads, canals, dams and buildings. T he Civil Engineering
branch deals with curriculum farmed by DOTE Chennai. A few important topics dealt
in our branch of studies viz. mechanics of fluids, surveying, mechanics of solids,
strength of materials, structural mechanics, soil mechanics, estimation and cost
analysis of buildings, steel structures etc. The excellent infrastructure, teaching
faculty of the best kind ensuring quality education such as interaction among students,
parents and staff, along with a Training and Placement Cell ensures a bright future
to its students. The department has well qualified faculties with highly qualified
faculty, excellent infrastructure and lab facilities with modern equipment.
