Though the college was started in 1984, the discipline of Automobile Engineering
was added in the year 2004 with the approved by AICTE Govt. of India and affiliated
to DOTE Chennai, Govt. of Tamilnadu. The annual intake capacity is 120. The objective
of this diploma program is to prepare technically competent world class Automobile
engineers for the industry and academia. Some of the important subjects taught during
the course are Auto chassis & Transmission, Automobile engine, Industrial automation,
Machine drawing, Industrial management and road transport organization, Body building
engineering, Two and three wheeler technology, in addition to Mechanical Engineering
subjects like Manufacturing Technology I & II, Computer integrated manufacturing
, Thermodynamics, Thermal Engineering,. The department is well equipped with laboratories,
class rooms, computing facilities and independent library. The department has 11
teaching staff members and two supporting technical staff. Students will undergo
practical sessions in all labs during the program as well as in plant training in
related industries for the benifit of our students through HRD.
